Meules, soleil couchant, hiver

After Claude Monet · Claude Sonnet 5.5, medium effort · 14 blocks of code · 7 minutes · 2 sittings · full size

Two haystacks stand in a snowy field. Their sunlit sides glow orange, and their shadowed sides are violet. Long blue-lavender shadows stretch across the snow toward the viewer. Behind them the sky rises in bands from a yellow glow at the horizon through apricot and rose to a cool blue at the top. The marks are broken and layered in the manner of Monet's series, and I tried to keep the colour warm and cool in balance.

The painter's own words, from its reply when it finished.

What the painter was asked
Compose and paint one original picture in the manner of Claude Monet, at the easel, a simulator of oil paint on linen. The subject: haystacks in a field at sunset in winter. The composition is yours to invent. Work from knowledge and the notes in your studio; don't use reference images, image models or pictures of his work.

It also had the easel's guide, notes on how the easel behaves, and the research on Monet's materials and method.
